RBI Governor Mr. Subbarao called Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and asked him to put a ban on Govt . of India’s advertisement on malnutrition ( kuposhan)that features Amir Khan .In that advertisement Amir is fostering people to provide healthy and balanced diet to their children. Subbarao feels that the slogan ‘kuposhan bharat chodo’(Malnutrition Quit India) is taken very seriously especially by rural people of India and they are spending their increased income in offering balanced diet to their children. Their practice of taking the message of Amir seriously has brought an increase in demand of healthy food items and has further added to increase in prices of essential food items. Subbarao is also thinking about ways to put a curve on the ever increasing income of rural government. It is height of loyalty towards Government on part of Governer.
